Utah FORGE: Triggered 3-Component Surface Nodal Seismic Waveforms from the April 2022 FOAL 1 Experiment

Publicly accessible License

This package contains triggered 3-component surface nodal seismic waveforms recorded during the FOAL 1 experiment, or FORGE Observation Array Linear #1, which occurred during the April 2022 hydraulic stimulation of well 16A(78)-32 at the Utah FORGE EGS site. This data was utilized and documented in the paper linked below within this dataset. The experiment was conducted at the Utah FORGE site to facilitate passive seismic imaging studies of the basement contact and deeper structures, if possible.

This dataset includes triggered waveform data for 23 microseismic events recorded by 100 SmartSolo IGU-16HR-3C surface nodes, along with the associated event catalog, station metadata, well trajectory information, processing notes, and conversion script. The waveforms are provided as pre-processed miniSEED data with 60-second event windows sampled at 500 Hz, and a 10-50 Hz bandpass filter has already been applied. The instrument response has not been removed, so the data should be treated as relative amplitudes unless response correction is applied using the included station metadata. The continuous data will be archived in a separate archive in the future. Please reference this GDR entry and the linked paper when data is utilized in the future. This dataset was acquired with internal support from Rice University and secondary support from the FOGMORE R&D project, Fiber Optic Monitoring for Reservoir Evolution, Utah FORGE R&D Project 3-2417.
