Cornell University Borehole Observatory Wireline Sonic Logs
This data set includes wireline geophysical data from well Cornell ESH #1 (API 31109300030000), known as the Cornell University Borehole Observatory, or CUBO. It is a stratigraphic well drilled to characterize potential EGS resources. The Drilling commenced on June 21, 2022 and total depth of 9790 feet below KB was reached on August 13, 2022. The upper part if the well was drilled through 9400 feet of sedimentary rocks before penetrating into 390 feet of crystalline basement rock.
Sonic logs were collected from the 2nd intermediate section (4230.5-7822.5 feet) and the open hole section (7790.5-9757 feet). Sonic Logs included delta time of compressional waves and travel time of shear waves, accompanied by parameters needed to calibrate those data to the borehole and rock conditions and derivative mechanical and porosity products.
Data files include .pdf files for the logging runs as well as files containing the same data in .csv and .las formats. A "Readme.txt" file contains additional information about the included data and references for more in-depth descriptions.
