GLADE Project: Final Technical Report
Final Technical Report for the GLADE Geothermal Drilling project in the DJ Basin of Colorado. The Geothermal Limitless Approach to Drilling Efficiencies (GLADE) project was undertaken to evaluate whether advanced oil and gas drilling practices could be adapted to improve geothermal well construction in deep, hot, hard-rock environments. Funded by the U.S. Department of Energy Geothermal Technologies Office and executed by Oxy, the project focused on drilling two deep wells, GLADE West and GLADE East, through the sedimentary section and into Precambrian granitic basement. This document serves as the Final Technical Report for the project and includes summaries of the drilling and operational results.
