FORGE Neubrex DAS 16B7(78)-32 April 2024
During the hydraulic fracture stimulation of two wells at FORGE in April 2024, Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) data was acquired in the monitoring well 16B (78)-32. This is also called the producer well. During this period, DAS data was recorded with a temporal sampling rate of 10,000 Hertz (Hz) with a 1-meter spatial resolution. Neubrex Energy Services (US), LLC used a specialized instrument called Time Gated Digital ? Distributed Acoustic Sensing interrogator unit (IU). It was connected to a single mode fiber (SMF) that was attached to the casing string in the 16B well and ran from 10,100 feet measured depth (MD) and all the way to surface. That fiber was connected to the Neubrex DAS instrument. Recording was continuous during Hydraulic Fracturing operations with no gaps in recording.
o This is raw Distributed Acoustic Sensing data. It was acquired continuously over FORGE well operations during April 2024. It was acquired on site from a fiber that was installed on the casing string and cemented into well FORGE 16B (78)-32.
o This data set measured acoustic energy that could be detected at and around the subject well.
o It can be used to support the data processing, analysis and interpretation of cross well strain, far field strain rate (microseismic), induced seismicity and it may also support some forms of reflection seismic imaging.
o This data can be used in the analysis and characterization of of physical processes that occurred during the Hydraulic Fracture stimulation of wells 16A (78)-32 and 16B (78)-32.
